Our Region's Housing Market: Rumors, Facts and Forecasts

Date: June 5, 2008
Time: 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Location: Jean R. and Allen L. Berman Auditorium, Johns Hopkins University Downtown Center, 10 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201

Materials from this June 5th community forum are now available. For Anirban Basu’s presentation, click here. For Jody Landers, presentation click here.

The headlines have been mixed: falling home values, slowing sales, ongoing foreclosure crisis - but also a good time to buy, and new mixed-use developments underway. Many of you are promoting the revitalization of Baltimore's neighborhoods. You know the stories of your neighbors, clients and colleagues. You may be wondering: what is the overall state of Baltimore's regional housing market?

Join us to hear how the Baltimore region compares to similar areas nationwide, who's buying and what's selling in our region and what this means for your work in community development, grantmaking or public policy.

Don't miss the opportunity to hear our region’s experts tackle these questions. Our panel will be:

  • Anirban Basu, Chairman & CEO, Sage Policy Group and host of the WYPR Morning Economic Report
  • Jody Landers, Executive Vice President, Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors
  • Bill Struever, Partner, CEO & President, Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse

This program is presented by the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers and is sponsored by Baltimore Neighborhood Collaborative and Enterprise Community Partners.

This forum is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Registration and coffee will be from 9:00 – 9:30 and the program will run from 9:30-11:00.
